Summary
Second World War slit trenches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1945 to the north west of Warren Hill. They may have been associated with the defences around the Chain Home radar site (see MDO28870) or RAF Southbourne (see MWX1164) and are adjacent to a line of anti-glider defences (see MDO28888).

Full Description
Second World War slit trenches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1947 to the north west of Warren Hill. They may have been associated with the defences around the Chain Home radar site (see MD28870) or RAF Southbourne (see MWX1164) and are adjacent to a line of anti-glider defences (see MDO28888). The earthworks are visible over an area measuring 66 m by 10 m and comprise three east-west aligned trenches with banks of spoil around them. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
