A group of three dispersed circular features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of marshland on the western edge of Wych Channel (1-2). They are considered likely to be the remains of bomb craters associated with Second World War activity in this area. These features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). One of these features (NGR SY98082 87625) is still visible as an earthwork on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (3).
