A group of four dispersed circular features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of marshland on the north-western edge of Middlebare Lake. They are considered likely to be the remains of bomb craters associated with Second World War activity in this area.

A group of four dispersed circular features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of marshland on the north-western edge of Middlebare Lake (1-3). They are considered likely to be the remains of bomb craters associated with Second World War activity in this area. These features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). Two of these features (NGR SY96760 86894 and SY96821 86745) are still visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (4).
