A circular pit, approximately 7.5m in diameter, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Arne Heath taken in 1947 (1). It is considered likely to be the site of a bomb crater associated with Second World War activities in this area. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It is not visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (2), the area now being under forestry plantation.
