Monument record MDO28976 - Possible historic extractive pit, Middlebere Farm, Arne
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
A circular pit is visible as a faint cropmark on aerial photographs to the south-east of Middlebere Farm (1-2). It is considered likely to be the remains of an extractive pit of medieval or post medieval date. Its close proximity to a possible late Neolothic/early Bronze Age henge monument (MDO28974) however, means that an earlier origin for this feature cannot be ruled out either.
