Summary
A curvilinear enclosure is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the fields on the edge of Middlebere Lake, to the east of Middlebere Farm. It is located near to the site of a briquetage scatter thought to be associated with a Roman saltern (MWX3126) and it is considered possible that the enclosure may be contemporary with it.

Full Description
A curvilinear enclosure, approximately 22.9m x 51.6m, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the fields on the edge of Middlebere Lake, to the east of Middlebere Farm (1-2). It is located near to the site of a briquetage scatter thought to be associated with a Roman saltern (MWX3126) and it is considered possible that the enclosure may be contemporary with it. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It not visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (3).
