Summary

Fragmentary remains of a curvilinear enclosure are visible as earthwork banks and ditches on aerial photographs to the west of Wytch Farm. This feature is located within an area of recorded settlement remains spanning a period between the Late Neolithic and the post medieval (MWX674) and may be associated with at least one of these occupation phases.

Full Description

Fragmentary remains of a curvilinear enclosure are visible as earthwork banks and ditches on aerial photographs to the west of Wytch Farm (1). This feature is located within an area of recorded settlement remains spanning a period between the Late Neolithic and the post medieval (MWX674) and may be associated with at least one of these occupation phases. It was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It is still partially visible as cropmarks on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (2).
