Summary
A group of linear and curvilinear ditches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Fitzworth Heath. They are considered likely to be the remains of trackways of probable medieval or post medieval date. Some may also be the result of possible Second World War activities in this area (MDO29006).

A group of linear and curvilinear ditches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Fitzworth Heath (1-2). They are considered likely to be the remains of trackways of probable medieval or post medieval date. Some may also be the result of possible Second World War activities in this area (MDO29006). These features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). A few are still partially visible as cropmarks on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (3).
