A group of parallel linear ditches are visible as earthworks on Lidar imagery of the channel between Round Island and Long Island (1). They are considered likely to be the remains of drainage ditches of probable historic or modern date. These features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). They are still partially visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (2).
