Full Description
Second World War beach defences, consisting of barbed wire entanglements, are visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s along the beach front at Studland, to the north and south of Redend Point. (1) The barbed wire was arranged in a line along the front of the beach to impede landing craft, adjacent to a second line of posts and barbed wire (see MDO29022), both of which were removed immediately after the war. This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
