Full Description
A large area of Second World War bomb craters is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the east of Little Sea, Studland Heath. This area was used for military training. The craters are sub-circular and measure between 4 m and 8 m. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 835 m by 360 m. (1-2) Further areas of bomb craters are located to the south (see MDO29036 and MDO29040). This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
