Three possible early modern barns are visible as structures on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the north of Ballard Down, Studland. The three possible barns are sub-rectangular buildings located at the edge of field boundaries, measuring 12 m by 9 m in size. (1-2) The buildings do not appear on the modern map. This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
