Full Description

Possible field boundaries, which may date to between the late prehistoric and medieval periods, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1945 to the north west of Blackers Hole, Langton Matravers. The boundaries are visible as banks forming a large sub-rectangular enclosure with a separate boundary extending to the east from it. They cover an area measuring approximately 215 m by 115 m. (1) This site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South west Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
