Summary

Barrow 38m in diameter is visible on aerial photographs as a cropmark ring ditch with internal mound and central pit. The site was digitally plotted for the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project. The pit seems likely to represent a burial of some sort.

Full Description

This barrow was 30 paces in diameter and feet in height. <1> Four round barrows: 'B' (69198539). North east of 'A'. Diam. about 90 ft., Ht. 3 ft. <3> 'B' SY 69198538 Diameter 32.0m, height 1.0m. No visible evidence of a ditch around any of these probable bowl barrows. All in arable. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. <4> Barrow 38m in diameter is visible on aerial photographs <7> as a cropmark ring ditch with internal mound and central pit. The site was digitally plotted for the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
