Full Description
An area of post medieval quarrying is visible as an earthwork on recent lidar imagery to the west of California Farm, Swanage. The quarries are located on limestone, visible as pits over an area measuring approximately 550 m by 150 m. (1) A quarry marked on the 1st edition OS map is located immediately adjacent to this area of quarrying and can also be seen as an earthwork on the lidar imagery (see attached record). This site was digitally plotted during the South west Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
