Summary

A small rectilinear building is visible immediately to the south of Swyre Head on aerial photographs taken in 1946. It is possibly associated with Second World War military activity or alternatively could be an agricultural building. Although demolished, the platform is still visible as an extant structure on Google Earth imagery.

A small rectilinear building is visible immediately to the south of Swyre Head on aerial photographs taken in 1946 (1). It is possibly associated with Second World War military activity or alternatively could be an agricultural building. Although demolished, the platform is still visible as an extant structure on Google Earth imagery (2). The site was digitally mapped as part of the the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
