A small sub-square hollow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the north-east of South Egliston (1). It is of uncertain date or function, possibly a post medieval or early modern extractive pit or of miltary origin. The site was digitally mapped as part of the the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
