A series of small extractive pits and hollows of probable post medieval origin are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar in the vicinity of the settlement of Worth Matravers. (1-4) . The site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
