A small uninscribed Purbeck stone altar was found in a field south of Kingston Barn in same area as Roman and Iron Age pottery was found.

Full Description
In 1960 Mr P A Brown discovered a small uninscribed stone altar of Purbeck stone near the track south of Kingston Barn where he had previously found Romano-British and earlier pottery. The stone is 14.5 inches high, has a plain back, and is simply and not quite horizontally carved on front and sides to form base, die, and capital of an altar of usual Roman shape.
