A mast is visible on RAF aerial photographs of Chaldon Down taken in 1946 (1). It is considered likely to be associated with Second World War activity in this area. This features was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). This feature is still visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
