An extensive group of dispersed pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (1-3) and Lidar Imagery (4) of fields to the south-west of Chideock Farm. They are considered likely to be the remains of chalk pits associated with post-medieval activities in this area. These features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
