A pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs to the south-east of Newlands Farm (1). It is considered likely to be the remains of the post medieval chalk pit. It is one of several located in this area (see also MWX3981-83). This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
