Summary
A circular hollow is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs and Lidar imagery of Lulworth Cove. It is considered possible this could be the remains of a Second World War bomb crater. Alternatively it could be the site of a post medieval extractive pit.

Full Description
A circular hollow, approximately 8.6m in diameter, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (1) and Lidar imagery (2) of Lulworth Cove. It is considered possible this could be the remains of a Second World War bomb crater. Alternatively it could be the site of a post medieval extractive pit. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial image available to the project.
