A sub-square hollow is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs of Bindon Hill (1). It is considered possible this could be the remains of a post medieval extractive pit. Alternatively it could be a feature associated with Second World War activity in this area. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
