Full Description
A Bronze Age bowl barow, part of the Culliford Tree barrow group, a linear group ranged along part of the Dorset Ridgeway. Listed by RCHME as Whitcombe 7 and by Grinsell as Whitcombe 13, it lies on the Whitcombe-Winterborne Came parish boundary. In 1979, the Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division recorded the barrow as a mound 16 metres in diameter and 1.1 metres high, "bisected by a wall, overgrown and very mutilated". <1-3>
