Summary
Site of a Bronze Age bowl barrow, part of a wider linear barrow cemetery. In 1970 this monument was reported as being around 75 feet in diameter with a mound about 12½ feet high, having been much reduced by ploughing. Soil marks indicated an original diameter of around 90 feet, with an encircling ditch about 17 feet wide.

Full Description
A Bronze Age bowl barrow, part of the Culliford Tree barrow group, a linear group of barrows ranged along part of the Dorset Ridgeway (see associated monuments). Listed by RCHME as Whitcombe 16 and by Grinsell as Whitcombe 6, it was described by the Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division in 1979 as a mound 22.5 metres in diameter and 3.2 metres high, with no visible trace of the surrounding ditch surviving. Previously, RCHME had noted a ditch some 17 feet wide. <1-3>
