Summary
A wide band of disturbance is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1948 between Burton Freshwater Beach and the minefield described in MDO29622. It is considered likely to be related to Second World War activity and is possibly the line of another removed beach defence.

Full Description
A wide band of disturbance is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1948 between Burton Freshwater Beach and the minefield described in MDO29622 (1). It is considered likely to be related to Second World War activity and is possibly the line of another removed beach defence. If so it is one of a number of beach defences protecting Freshwater Beach including barbed wire entanglements (MDO29623) and anti-tank cubes (MDO29621). The features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
