A Second World War light anti-aircraft gun emplacement is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of the 1940s on Verne Hill at the southern extremity of the the Verne Citadel earthworks. <4> This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
