Two possible 19th to early 20th century mine shafts are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s within Waycroft Quarries, Portland. The shafts measure up to approximately 2 m square and are surrounded by banks of spoil. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
