A Second World War coastal battery and magazine is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of the 1940s <4> at East Weare Camp, Portland. The site comprises four gun emplacements and a magazine, both within earthern banks and several ancillary buildings around them. A slit trench, which is probably also associated with the site, is located adjacent to one of the outlying buildings. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 500 m by 135 m. This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
