A possible Second World War bomb crater or modern extractive pit is visible as an earthwork on lidar imagery of 2007 on Verne Common, Portland. The crater or extractive pit is sub-circular and measures 4 m in diameter. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
