Full Description
A group of possible Second World War military buildings are visible as structures on aerial photographs of the 1940s, to the west of of a Royal Navy fuel store (see MDO19665), Castletown. The buildings are of uncertain function, but may have been associated with coastal defence. The site consists of a group of ten small buildings or structures. (1) The structures are adjacent to the site of a wrecked Dornier (see MWX4542), but the aircraft was not visible on the available aerial photographs. This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
