A system of Second World War beach defences are visible on aerial photographs of Weymouth Sands taken in 1942 (1). They appear to be a continuation of beach defences that extended the entire length of Weymouth Sands during this period (see also MDO24821). These features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). They are not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
