A group of four circular hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Chesil Beach (1-2). They are considered likely to be the remains of bomb craters associated with Second World War military activity in this area. These features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). Theay are not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
