Full Description
The area centred at SY 39019611 has a number of low banks and trackways with a definite rectangular platform at SY 39049615. A short hollow-way leads to this platform from the south south east. In an almost decayed orchard on the west side there are traces of another level platform with a low surrounding bank.
The area of disturbance is fairly large and suggest a farm site. It may possibly have had a Medieval origin though the remains of an orchard may indicate comparatively recent desertion. The area is under pasture and no building remains are visible. <1>
A farmstead called "Stoke" is shown here on OS 2" drawing, surveyed 1806-7. <2>
