Three rectilinear structures are visible on aerial photographs of the eastern end of Bincleaves Groyne taken in 1946 (1). It is considered likely these could be military buildings associated with Second World War activity in this area. These features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). Structures are still visible at this location on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project (2), although it is not clear whether these have since been modified.
