Summary

A stone-lined drain was found to the south east of a yard surface of eighteenth century date during excavations in Cockram's Field, Shaftesbury, undertaken in 1951 to look for Barton Manor House.

Full Description

Two curving lines of stones weres exposed during excavations in Cockram's Field, Shaftesbury, undertaken in 1951 to look for Barton Manor House and interpreted as a drain. It was thought that this drain was associated with an adjacent yard surface. (1)
