A extensive group of shallow linear extractive pits are visible on aerial photographs of Hyde Heath (1-2). They are considered likely to be the remains of a modern quarry, now disused. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. They are still partially visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
