An area of shallow earthworks are visible on aerial photographs of Lower Hyde Heath taken in 1947 (1). They are considered likely to be the remains of post medieval or modern extractive activity. A group of trackways leading to this area (MDO30055) may be associated. This site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. It is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project, this area now being under plantation.
