Full Description
An area of shallow linear earthworks and banks are visible on aerial photographs (1-2) and Lidar imagery (3) of Lower Hyde Heath. They are considered likely to be the remains of post medieval or modern extractive activity. Alternatively they could be associated with Second World War military activities in this area. This site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. Some of these features are still visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
