Summary

Holnest is one of three manors discussed by Katherine Barker and Dennis Seaward in a paper on the Tudor manors of the Blackmoor Vale (Barker and Seaward 1990). Pottery production is documented in Holnest during the late 16th century and early 17th century. The sources include a potter's will dated to 1617 (Spoerry 1988).
