Full Description
Group of barrows on Came Down Golf Course: 'E' Bowl (68468589) 19 yds.E.N.E. of 'D'. Diam. 39 ft., ht 9 ins., but spread. <3>
'E' SY 68468588 Diameter 19.0m, height 0.7m. Spread. No ditch visible around any of the barrows. All resurveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. See ground photographs. <4>
A bowl barrow, part of a group on Came Down Golf Course. Listed by both Grinsell and RCHME as Winterborne Came 14. Formerly described by RCHME as a spread mound 39 feet in diameter and 9 inches high, in 1980 the Ordnance Survey recorded it again as a spread mound, 19 metres in diameter and 0.7 metres high. <3-4>
Bowl barrow, 39ft. In diam and 9ins. High, but spread. Small barrow on Came Down Golf Course, almost flattened. Visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs <7> and digitally plotted for the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
