Summary
An irregular pit is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs of fields just to the west of Part Square Plantation. It is possible this could be the remains of a post medieval extractive pit. Alternatively it could be associated with Second World War military activity in this area (see MDO30174) or a natural feature.

An irregular pit is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs of fields just to the west of Part Square Plantation (1). It is possible this could be the remains of a post medieval extractive pit. Alternatively it could be associated with Second World War military activity in this area (see MDO30174) or a natural feature. It was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
