Pits and earthworks associated with this clay extraction are visible on aerial photographs of Little Trigon Hill Plantation taken in 1956. They are not visible on recent aerial images, having now been destroyed by modern quarrying.

Full Description
An 'old clay pit' is marked at this location on the First Edition OS Map (1). Pits and earthworks associated with this clay extraction are visible on aerial photographs of Little Trigon Hill Plantation taken in 1956 (2). These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. They are not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project, having now been destroyed by modern quarrying.
