A pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of South Heath, East Stoke (1-2). It is considered likely to be the remains of a post medieval or modern gravel pit. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. It is not visible on the most comprehensive aerial images available to the project, having since been levelled by modern quarrying in this area.
