Full Description
A circular hollow, approximately 11.8m in diameter, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Highwood Heath taken in 1945 (1). It is considered liely to be the remains of a Second World War bomb crater. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. It is not visible on the most recent aerial images available to the project, this area now being under modern conifer plantation.
