Bovington Camp has been a training camp since 1916 and is the home of the Armoured Forces of the British Army. Short areas of slit trenching are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs adjacent to the First and Second World War barrack buildings (1). Some of the trenches may be drainage associated with removed buildings. The features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
