Summary
Possible bowl barrow, one of a pair of barrows, has a diam of 60ft. and a height of 2ft. Has been ploughed. Visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs {1} and digitally plotted as part of the South Dorset Ridgeway Project.

Full Description
'A' Bowl Barrow (SY 69498750). Forms a pair with 'B' on west of parish, on west edge of broad ridge. Diam. 60 ft, ht 2 ft. Ploughed. A bronze dagger from one of of these barrows is now in the Dorset County Museum. <1> ,3>
'A' SY 69498750. Bowl barrow, Diameter 37.0m, height 1.0m. Both are in a good state of preservation. No ditch visible around either barrow. In arable. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <4>
A rapid examination of air photography (5a) suggests the presence of a third barrow, located at SY 6963 8750, just west of the north end of South Plantation, visible as a soilmark (in line with the other two barrows and SY 68 NE 121) of an apparent central mound, ditch and outer bank. <6>
Visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs <7> and digitally plotted as part of the South Dorset Ridgeway Project.
