Full Description
Four post medieval chalk pits are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery of 2010 to the north of Great Copse and to the south west of Southover Farm, Affpuddle. The pits are located on the Portsdown Chalk Formation and measure between 33 m by 40 m and 55 m by 50 m. (1) Two of the pits are marked on the 1st edition OS map. (2) The features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
