A Second World War light anti aircraft battery is visible on aerial photographs of a field to the west of Sandford House, Wareham St Martin. The battery consists of two concrete built towers set side by side, each supporting an upper platform. One tower is recorded to have been equipped with a 40mm Bofors gun, while the other housed the observation post.

A light anti-aircraft battery on Holton Heath, located on a ridge to the west of the Royal Naval Cordite Factory site. The battery consists of two concrete built towers set side by side, each supporting an upper platform. One tower was equipped with a 40mm Bofors gun, while the other housed the observation post. <1>

One tower is recorded to have been equipped with a 40mm Bofors gun, while the other housed the observation post. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. These structures are still extant and are visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
